BOOKS OF NEGLIGIBLE SUCCESS

The book industry is in crisis. People don’t read anymore and chances are if you are reading this post you are probably doomed to extinction (dinosaurs were book lovers). Last week, while browsing through some text in a second hand bookstore in Santa Barbara, I found these four pearls, published between 1970 and 1990. I couldn’t believe the writers could find an editor crazy enough to print them. I later found out the publishers of all four books went bankrupt and three out of four authors committed suicide. Being published at all costs (and this blog is no exception) is a malady of our time. E-books will spread the disease of irrelevance. Which is fine with me. The problem is, irrelevance will be covered by incompetent mongrels.
