PAPER SURGERY – ANAMORPHOSIS
It is no secret how much Brandpowder loves paper. And how much we like to play with it, especially when there’s something printed on it. We gave this constant struggle to break the two dimensions a name: Paper Surgery. It’s a sort of Media-Origami mixed with Trompe-Collage and a touch of Iconoclastic Voodoo. Tree Pulp Mumbo-Jumbo, nothing less. Paper seems old-fashioned, today, and dismissed in favor of hypnotic media liquidity. Few people are aware of the weight of paper in our culture, though. We live in a digital world but 80% of the information that goes around is still on paper, even if 80% of documents are already available in digital format. We love paper, and this is another essay to celebrate its unpredictable flexibility.

Dear Tania,
thank you for your comment. We really appreciated it. We didn’t publish a book, yet. We’re planning to do a comprehensive collection of Brandpowder’s work to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. Wishing you and your students all the best and please, let us know about your project. It sounds exciting. Thanks again, and our apologies for the late reply.

This is some really great work! How were the final few images achieved? Particularly the fourth last with the transparent overlap effect, it’s a really beautiful look.
Thank you Dmitry! Greatly appreciated comment.
